The Plant Variety Checklist was started in 2023 for keeping track of the variety of plant sources eaten in a week. This was to see how close we were getting to 30 different plant sources in a given week.
There is some evidence that eating a wide variety of plant food sources in a week improves microbiome health. Refer to this.
The categories are somewhat arbitrary. The items within each category are obviously not exhuastive lists. Additionally, we opted not to include herbs or spices as they would not constitute a full serving of food, or even a large fraction of a serving.
The checklist uses your device localStorage, so if you have your brower set to dump localStorage after each session, it will not work for you.
